Paris Attacks: The world mourns the shocking 'act of war'

At least 128 people have been killed in a series of attacks in Paris on Friday 13th November, with approximately 80 being killed at the Bataclan concert hall on Friday night. Where they were taken hostages before security forces stormed the building. Others died in bombings near stade de france stadium where France played Germany and also during gun attacks in city centre restaurants.

French President, Francois Holland has declared a “state of emergency” across the nation and closed France borders to stop people leaving the country. Military are being deployed in the city and Paris mayor has asked residents to stay indoors.

Extreme Jihadi twitter accounts have celebrating the attacks in Paris, while this morning IS have officially claimed responsibility for the attacks. Francois Hollande has visited the Bataclan theatre and said that France will show no mercy in fight against terrorists.

Prime minister David Cameron said that he was “shocked by events in Paris” adding: “our thoughts and prayers are with the French people. We will do whatever we can to help.” While he also warned that "we must be prepared for a number of British casualties."
