There is no Wrong Way to be a Woman


The fashion industry has raised a lot of debate, both because of size zero models and how it affects the viewers and the models health. Of course, if being a size zero has poor health issues then it should not be plastered everywhere. People in the fashion industry have so much power to influence their viewers, so their decisions should not be considered lightly.

However, we also have the power to change things. Over the past few years, I have seen/heard the phrase "real men like curves, only dogs like bones" so often and it is ridiculous. Not only does this offend slim females, it also offends males. By telling them, depending on which body type he is attracted to, will or will not make them a 'real man'. How shallow. Nowadays statistics show the average woman’s size in the UK is a size 16 - average height of 5'4" which is perfectly fine, but people call this a 'real woman's body', so if there are any females who are not this size, they do not have a real woman’s body? If this average increased to a size 22, is that what we should all aim for? I personally do not care what size/weight a woman is on either ends of the scale, although I would encourage you to be kind to yourself and take care of your health. People promoting only curves and plus sizes like to think they are being body positive, but they really are not. This also goes for people promoting only slim bodies. We all have our struggles and our own journeys. Telling someone to eat a burger IS just as rude as telling someone to lose weight! So the next time you want to lay your judgment on a woman’s size, look in the mirror and judge your own single mind set. Women are not defined by their dress size; we are so much more...
