Compton Hospice relies on its donations and charity shops to offer a “helping hand, a listening ear, and the caring support of people who understand” and with this new store hope to fund more care for the people of the Black Country. The shop is filled with donated good as far as the eye can see! Toys, clothes, furniture, games and more and as the doors opened soon filled with local people too!

Ed Blackwell, retail manager for the new shop said: “The demand for Compton s services had hit a peak. Therefore the need for more funds is vital to employ more nurses. Opening a store like this will be vital in making this happen. Wolverhampton is at the heart of Compton's work therefore it's essential out flagship store is located in the city centre.” The shop is run by a number of staff and volunteers but greatly stresses it is in need of a few more helping hands to keep the busy days running smoothly.

“Volunteers are the most important part for our shops. Without them Compton couldn't do what they do. The size of our store means we need lots of enthusiastic helpers to help keep the store running smoothly. Anyone interested should pop in for a chat and an application form”
