The UK's biggest rock festival have announced the first acts to perform at next years weekend of metal.

By Scott Edwards

This morning (November 17), Download Festival announced that Corey Taylor and Slipknot will be tearing up the main stage at Donington Park for the second time in three years.

Coming off the back of their great '.5: The Grey Chapter' album, Slipknot and their new masks will face their adorning British fans in the middle of their UK tour.

Also announced are Brummies Judas Priest. Rob Halford and co. will be supporting Slipknot on Friday June 12, hoping to show the Download masses how it was done, back in the 70's.

Those familiar with Rob Halford's recent work will be excited to know Five Finger Death Punch (FFDP) will also be snarling their way across the main stage on Friday too. Halford worked with FFDP on their latest albums 'The Wrong Side of Heaven' parts one and two, contributing his amazing vocals to the first track off part one, 'Lift Me Up'. Ivan Moody and his L.A relentless band of metal lovers put on one hell of a show a few years ago at Donington and we're expecting nothing less again this year.

The final band to be announced was Black Stone Cherry. The Kentucky four piece have approached the end of their current UK tour, promoting the emphatic 'Magic Mountain' album. Announcing their return to the UK so soon will be sure to lure the presence of any fan that recently missed them.

For the moment, that is all. But if the next announcements follow the trend set by these fantastic bands, Download 2015 won't be one to miss.
