Asking Alexandria grip their fans harder than ever on their return to UK for the ‘2014 Moving On Tour’ – bringing with them Secrets, Crown The Empire, The Ghost Inside, and their usual mischievous antics.

‘For those of you that haven’t been to an Asking show before – this is pretty much it.’ Lead vocalist and frontman Danny Worsnop addresses the crowd whilst nonchalantly rubbing himself against bassist Ben Bruce. As previously explained by Danny, the British five piece metal band use their stage time as an excuse to try and be funny – oh and occasionally play a song or two. Maybe.
Up and coming band Secrets put everything they had into a successful opening set, followed by the highly anticipated Crown The Empire. However credit has to be given to the guys in The Ghost Inside who showed no end of respect to the crowd despite a begrudged front row to stand and watch.
As hyped as the support bands got, nothing could have prepared the crowd for the arrival of the headlining band. As playful as the guys of AA like to be, their alcoholism and bad language doesn’t stop them from delivering a once again incredible set.
Danny totters across the stage towards the mic stand – which is of course wrapped in the UK and England flags - in a very lady like manner. He looks down his nose at the crowd before breaking this silver spooned persona with a lung shattering scream that opens their first track of the night, Don’t Pray for Me.
Somewhere between Danny’s stand ups and Ben’s Banter the band also manage to play fan favourites including ‘To The Stage’, ‘A Prophecy’, ‘Breathless’ and ‘Someone Somewhere’. The crowd at the O2 Academy in Birmingham were also blessed with a rare moment of Danny’s sincerity in thanking his fans for their support – followed by and incredible performance of their now Gold singles – ‘Not the American Average’ and ‘The Final Episode’.
It’s safe to say fans of Asking Alexandria are as crazy as they are. If the blood and sweat on the floor after isn’t enough to convince you – at an Asking Alexandria show, the venue is required to have almost double the number of security than it does for most other bands. AA stir a mosh pit like no other, from beginning to end before climaxing on not one, not two – but three encores of ‘Killing Me’, ‘Death of Me’ and ‘Poison’.
There is no news yet on when Asking will return to the UK, however Crown The Empire will be back on their own UK headline tour in February while The Ghost Insides new album is released November 17.
