Three Days in November

The Walsall Art Festival has returned, and this time its theme is globalisation and heritage which includes poetography - a new art form blending poetry and photography happening at the Wheatsheaf pub.

The full programme has been unveiled for Three Days in November. The free event will include a variety of: art, spoken word, film and sculpture with the theme of globalisation and heritage; the event will take place at Wheatsheaf pub in Birmingham road, Walsall on November 6, 7 and 8 from noon to 6pm.

Among the activities, Leanne Bridgewater will be responding to the art work with spoken word which comes complete with a homophone translator for people to listen to; Dale Grimshaw will be creating a mural over three days at the Wheatsheaf pub - this will bring together the spoken word artists and musicians that will perform in front of his work as he creates it. Leanne Bridgewater, Ddotti Bluebell and Neth Brown will accompany Dale Grimshaw.

Catherine Kaufman will exhibit her collection of soft sculpture and Coffin by Carolyn Bayliss will be on display. Kaufman's work will deal with femininity over the ages.

Carolyn Bayliss exhibits her work called coffin dealing with EDL and UAL clashes. Hanifa McQueen will demonstrate her unique style of painting, Lady Dawn Hilton-McAlistair will be at Wheatsheaf pub with her installation art and Najma Hush will talk about poetography - a mix of poetry and photography. Paul McDonald will be the event to talk about his published work.

The films Sis & Twinkle Twinkle by Deborah Haywood, and Dirty Egg by Patrick Coyle, will be shown.

There will be Q&A sessions with Patrick Coyle, Paul McDonald and Dale Grimshaw.
