In an unusual turn around, Microsoft have announced that they are to boost the capabilities of the Xbox One, which has been made possible from their option to scarp selling the console with the Kinect.

MS are getting in touch with developers such as Activision and EA, to see if they could start implimenting 1080p gameplay on the system instead of limiting them to the standard 720p.

"We are in discussions with our game publishers about what we might do in this space and we will have more to talk about soon," said company executive, Yosuf Mehdi.

Since the release of both the PS4 and Xbox One last November, the PS4 has always trumped Xbox One with higher resolutions and higher frame rates, limiting the performance of titles, most recently Watch Dogs and The Witcher 3.
